      Holiday Activity Rock Climbing and Streamwalking in the Mendips

      Young Bristol Holiday Club  For ages: 8-16 Rock Climbing: Experience the thrill of real rock climbing in the Mendip Hills, South of Bristol. Your fully qualified Instructor will help you into a harness and helmet and teach you all the skills you need to scale 40ft rock faces and belay (hold the ropes) for others. Stream Walk: Now you know the ropes, we'll give you wellies and waterproofs and it's time to put your new skills to the test. Climb a series of small waterfalls in the picturesque Mendip Hills and finish by climbing the last big waterfall attached to a climbing rope! Format of the Day: The meeting place will be: Pooles Wharf Activity Centre, Hotwell Road, BS8 4RU. (Next to the Grain Barge Floating Bar/ Restaurant) Please bring: lunch, snacks and drink, warm clothes, sun screen. Wear loose trousers and closed shoes (not flip flops or sandals). Trainers or lace up shoes are perfect. Your child should arrive at Pooles Wharf between 9am to 9.30am, where they will meet the instructor and the other participants before setting off for the activity site at 9.45am (It is a 30 minute minibus ride to the Mendips). When the session has ended at around 4pm the children will return to Pooles Wharf and wait to be picked up at 4pm to 4.30pm Parents/carers will be contacted if their child has not been collected by 4.30pm.
